This final Stage 1 project focuses on encounters an artist may experience, either by chance or through planned visits, meetings and research, as part of the diagnostic investigation into their creative practice. I chose to visit the V&A Museum in London to explore a variety of galleries and collections but focused on historic and contemporary stained glass windows. Despite a religious upbringing I am now an atheist, so I decided to apply the concept of stained glass windows to my modern icons rather than Christ, saints or kings. I produced a significant body of artwork using the image of David Bowie, my favourite modern musician and performance artist.
